Amazon Inbound Cross-Dock Facility
Location East Fishkill, NY
Distribution center for cross-docking transfer of products (inbound and outbound via tractor trailers), comprised of insulated precast concrete sandwich panel walls and structural steel skeleton. Majority of 629,186 SF single story facility is comprised of an open warehouse (581,400 sf -approx. 92.5%) with minimum clear heights of 36′-0″ (roof high point of 45′-0″), containing a 19,950 sf mezzanine, as well as satellite restrooms and breakrooms. The remainder of the building footprint constitutes “appendages” housing employee support functions such as security, breakrooms, offices, and training/recruitment. Secure truckyard containing 700 trailer parking stalls and 132 dock doors monitored by prefabricated primary and secondary guardhouses.
Amazon Distribution Facility
Location: Beloit, WI
Ground-up 1,077,000+ sf industrial facility project, completed over a period of 12 months, from initial planning to occupancy in August 2020. Equipped with 112+ truck loading docks, 33,576± sf of employee support, and a 250,000± sf mezzanine providing two additional levels of rack storage, the single-story facility serves as a distribution center for satellite facilities within the region and includes hydrogen fueled PIT vehicles.
Amazon Delivery Station Facility
Location: Concord, NC
New 200,000+ sf single-story industrial building and site development for electric vehicle charging (EV), auto and delivery van parking, truck loading, van staging and van loading areas, as well as specific traffic pattern to support the operation. The facility is designed for a package delivery service where the packages are unloaded via tractor trailer, sorted on small mobile carts, and loaded into vans for final delivery. The facility also includes approximately 10,000sf of office, break room, remote restrooms and customer service areas to support the operations.
Amazon Large Format Package Facility
Location: Manteca, CA
SMDC was engaged by the project developers working in conjunction with the client to design and coordinate the interior fit-out, MHE composite requirements and related site elements for a 747,000 SF shell building designed by another A/E firm. Several key elements of the pre-designed shell building were modified to suit tenant requirements prior to the shell construction. Early during the shell construction, SMDC coordinated the slab design to accommodate the layout of interior facilities to reduce unnecessary slab cutting and reconstruction.
