Shalini Mohan

Shalini graduated with a degree in Architecture from the Chandigarh College of Architecture in India in 1987. She began her professional career in Delhi, India. She graduated with a Master’s of Science in Urban Design from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn NY in 1993. She worked as an intern with Battery Park City Authority in NY through her education at Pratt.

During her 18 years with URS she rose from being a Staff Architect to a Vice President National Programs. While at URS she managed URS’s $270M account with United States Postal Service that included both Design and Construction Services for Moynihan Station and USPS Morgan among other projects. In addition to USPS Shalini also managed URS’s Retail Business Line from 2010 to 2014. She also worked on a number of Energy related project renovations including two large green roof projects in the NY Metro Area.

Today she own and operates SM Design and Consulting, PC, (SMDC) as a Minority, Small and Woman owned firm providing Architecture and Engineering design services Nationwide. She is a licensed architect in approximately 10 states. SMDC’s current clients include Amazon, McDonalds, Freebirds, Amtrak, SOM and USPS. The firm focuses on Retail, Industrial and sustainability driven projects.
